[Open Log] Feels like the first time losing control
WHO: Jean Kirstein & Open
WHAT: Jean is usually a calm werewolf.
WHEN: December 15th
WHERE: Sunwaning
WARNINGS: slightly losing control, potentially little violence, swearing likely
When Jean first got the werewolf curse it had been hard to get used to it. However, as months passed by it had started to become more of a 'relax at home' kind of a time. His werewolf curse was minor and he mostly acted like a curious, excitable cub. He rarely even ran off the yard since being at home calmed him down with the familiar people, animals and the scents.
It had been the same now. First night had gone fine, just as he expected. Usually he was more taken by his wolf side on the 'actual' full moon night, so he spend time sitting on their house's yard, practicing using his enhanced senses.
This month, however, as the full moon appeared on the sky, something felt different. The wolf in him was restless and felt more alert than usual. The sense of something being wrong was overpowering. That he was somehow not in full strenght and thus was in danger. How could he defend himself or his pack if he was injured? How had he gotten injured this badly?
His wolf ears were flat on his head and he was showing off his fangs. He was also doing something he had never done previously which was growling in a threathening way at all the people who were passing by their house. Anyone stopping closeby to see what was going on was given a death stare and he was ready to bounce on the threats.
[OOC: wildcards to the day after are also fine. I'm assuming he doesn't actually attack anyone badly/is stopped before he can, since I just want to give him a little scare of losing control over his werewolf side due to being injured, which doesn't happen often
Also he's human, but has wolf ears, tail, fangs and longer nails.]

… Well. Conversations that ended abruptly.
This month, Reiner once again failed to track the moon. He's on his way to Jean's to see how his friend is doing, what with the definitely-not-bedrest he's under, when he hears the growl.
Turning, Reiner sees teeth first, Jean second. He stops in his tracks, more bewildered than afraid. After all, a werewolf's teeth and claws can't pierce Armor.
But he doesn't want to use his Armor against Jean. Not again. And those teeth aren't a comforting sight.
"Hey, Jean," Reiner says, voice steady. "You all right?"

"Someone's hurt me. They could come back to finish me off", he says, voice a little lower and different than usual, even if his still recognizable as Jean. "I have to protect my home. My pack."
Which is why he hasn't moved to safety, but hasn't left the yard anywhere either. He has to stand between the threat and his home. If they managed to hurt him, they're dangerous.

Reiner spends a moment taking it in. Jean is acting like a guard dog (and looking a bit like one, too), which Reiner supposes makes sense—except that it also doesn't. As far as Reiner knows, Jean doesn't behave like this even around the full moon. It's entirely new.
So what's different this month? What changed?
He remains where he is lest he unintentionally provoke Jean into an attack.
"Who hurt you?" he asks, voice still steady.

"I don't know. Do you know?" Maybe a pack member would know. "Was it hunters?"
Being injured was concerning, but not being able to remember why was even more so. Who was it? Why was it?
Someone moves past the house again and Jean shifts his attention there, going between the apparent threat (a random guy returning from grocery shopping) and Reiner.
"You should go inside."
He would feel much better if his pack was in the same place.

Reiner takes a moment to consider his options. He could attempt to snap Jean out of whatever is happening. But without knowing precisely what that is, he'd be fighting blind. He could wash his hands of this and fetch Mikasa, but Reiner would sooner kick his own ass than run away. Or he could try to figure out how to calm Jean down whilst playing along.
All things considered, there's only the one option.
"I'll stay out here with you," Reiner says decisively. "Two sets of eyes are better than one, right? Besides, I'm not injured."
no subject
He nods. "Alright. I trust you can handle youself."
Much like he would trust his mate (Mikasa) but she was inside and he had decided not to call her out. Someone had to take care of the pets inside, after all.

"Thanks for letting me help out," he says. "Has anyone else come by?"
no subject
"I won't lower my guard though. They're waiting for that."
Whoever the they were.
