[Mike can feel the impatience. He nods.]

Cool. You got somewhere to be, by the way? You live around here?

[interviewee]

I live in Solarpeak, at the main apartment complex. Not too far away.

[Louis hefts his portion of the load and gestures with his head.]

[Mike picks up two boxes of pamphlets like they weigh nothing after muttering to himself. Though Louis wouldn't hear muttering but hear soft TV static instead of mumbling whispers. He follows behind.]

Let's get these to your place then. Lead the way, sir.

[interviewee]

[Louis nods and carries his own portion back toward an apartment in Solarpeak. It's a typical loft-style apartment and the pinkening sky is a warning to him to hurry.]

Need to get these on the windows.

[The dots are fully connecting in Mike's brain. He sets down the boxes of pamphlets he carries and nods.]

Sure thing. You wanna see a cool trick?

[The sun is almost up so he doesn't wait for a reply. Mike grabs a pamphlet from the box and starts to speak, though instead of words, it's white noise static. It pours out of his mouth as suddenly all of the pamphlets fly out of the boxes and out of Louis's hands. They adhere themselves to the windows, overlapping and sealing against the glass without glue or tape. Just sticking layer over layer until the windows are completely covered.]

[Louis doesn't have a chance to reply before the pamphlets are plastered over all the windows, overlapping and seemingly stuck without glue. He won't complain about the help, especially as the first rays of sun are barely blocked out.

A close call Louis is not likely to forget. He breathes out and looks over to Mike with relief.]

You're welcome. Getting the feeling you and the sun don't mix much. Am I right?

You're right. [The pamphlets are holding up, thankfully, and the narcoleptic pull of the sun starts to tug at Louis.] My kind doesn't mix with sun at all.

Fortunately for you, I've known a few vampires in my time. I'm guessing that's what you are, am I right? Wonder if we're from the same world. Could be a small multiverse like that.

[interviewee]

I am, yes. [Louis shrugs. He's not that bothered by other people knowing what he is.] We could be from the same world.

[livesoutofspite]

[Mike likes the casualness of the conversation. Makes things so much more relaxed.]

Do you got Mages in your world you're aware of? Or does the names Pentex or the God Machine mean anything to you?

[interviewee]

[Okay well maybe they aren't from the same world after all.]

You got me there; we don't even have mages. Some pretty strong vampires, but no mages.

Vampires but no mages? Huh. What about werewolves?

[interviewee]

Never seen a werewolf. Doesn't mean they aren't present. [Some vampires were feral enough to possibly count as werewolves, he supposes.]

Probably for the best. From what I've heard, werewolves and vampires don't usually get along.

So can you stay up all day or is it just like a little while while the sun is up?
