[ so here's the thing: venus has never been great with fashion. she's better at it now? not that that's difficult when you're going from "wearing whatever mom tells you to" to "having a body that actually fits you." but about all she was good at was finding things that she liked the idea of...

...right up until about six months ago. turns out getting hired for a clothes-and-toys shop could do wonders for your fashion sense - nothing like total immersion, after all. so when she sees a girl with purple hair combing through the shops, looking at various outfits, she can't help but butt in with- ]

Hey. [ her voice is low in pitch, a bit on the androgynous side, but her resonance and tone are undeniably feminine. then again, the whole "glowing feathery wings covered in fully-functional eyes" part might distract from her voice a bit. ] Do you need any help with your options?

[ While Venus' appearance does slightly catch Sakura off guard, enough that her violet eyes widen ever so slightly, she tries to curb a lot of her other emotions to the side.

That, at least, is something she's good at. ]

Umm... do you have any suggestions? There's just so much here that it's kind of hard to choose.

[ Basically: she isn't outright saying yes, but she isn't rejecting the help, either. ]

Hummm... I mean, I guess it partially depends on what sort of clothes you like? You've got a really nice figure, so I think there's a lot you could do with it. Maybe, hmm...

[ the devil takes an appraising look over sakura, from head to toe. it's not particularly leery, at least - more like being studied than being stared at. she steps back after a moment, biting her lip as she thinks. ]

Maybe... Something with a cinched waist? Not quite floor-length. [ a beat, and then- her eyes widen as she settles on an idea. (yes, all of the eyes.) ] Oh, wait, something with an empire waist! It'd make you a bit taller, and it'd look great on your figure...

[ sorry, sakura - it's venus's turn to start flipping through all the clothes. hopefully one of you is able to find something? ]

Ahaha. I've never really gotten to buy clothes before, so knowing what I like is a bit....

[ She trails off, laughing awkwardly. ]

...oh. Yeah, I get that.

[ she smiles - a bit soft, a bit bittersweet. that's a feeling she knows surprisingly well. ]

My parents would have disowned for looking at this kind of stuff. And... See this, right here? [ she reaches up, running her finger along the black line going from chin to chest. ] This was a mark for people who weren't allowed out on their own. I couldn't legally go in most stores without supervision, haha.

[ -aha! there. venus fishes out a longer dress, cinched about the waist, and holds it out. ]

Does something like this look nice? [ she laughs nervously. ] It, uh- it should be cheaper than getting a whole outfit right now, at least?

... I'm sorry.

[ She doesn't say it, but the implications are there. Sakura herself doesn't like talking, much less thinking of all the awful memories of the past, so the idea of doing, even accidentally, digging up memories that may not exactly be pleasant doesn't feel good for her.

But her expression perks up slightly at the dress, violet eyes following the flow of the dress from top to bottom. ]

Oh, but the dress - I think it'd work. Should I go try it on first?

Ha. It wasn't your fault? But. Thanks.

[ sakura's happiness is enough to snap venus out of whatever funk she might have been. she brightens - literally, the gentle radiance of her skin flowing even as they speak - and hands it over to the other girl. ]

Yeah! I think it'll look great on you??

[ honestly, she's kind of excited to see it? look. girl pretty, yes, but also she hasn't gotten to help pick something out for someone in a while. it's a nice feeling! ]

Alright, I'll be right back...

[ She'll go and hunt herself a dressing room and while it takes her a couple of minutes before eventually stepping out, twirling a bit. ]

How does it look?

[ she's not really sure what to do while she waits. it's not like she works here, after all - and even if it's slightly less weird on bdsm sex planet, offering to help sakura with her dress definitely would be kind of sexual harassment around here?? she's pretty sure of that, at least. so she just stands around, humming to herself and checking a few of the nearby stands-

-and then sakura comes out of the dressing room, and venus practically shines. ]

Oh my god? Oh my god. That looks so good on you!! [ oh thank fuck. she didn't make a terrible recommendation. ] I, um. I hope the neckline doesn't feel too bold? If it does you might be able to wear a scarf on top, or a cardigan, or- or something, though. It really looks nice!!
