[closed to existing CR] rule number one: never feel safe
WHO: Evangeline, "Mom", and Evangeline's CR
WHAT: Evangeline used a Wishing Star and asked for her mom. This goes very well up until it absolutely does not, and then death and revivals happen.
WHEN: April 23rd + April 27th
WHERE: Around Ellipsa, then Summer Flower Yard
WARNINGS: Offscreen character death, self-blame for said death.
[April 23rd]
[When Evangeline had told Frieda that she'd brought an Abnormality here with a Wishing Star, Frieda had responded as if she'd told her that Wishing Stars could bring people. And - well, an Abnormality isn't a person, but she can't really call it a pet or an animal, either. She hadn't tried to bring someone with a Wishing Star, for all she'd talked about wanting her parents here.
So she wished, with all her heart, that her mom would arrive. And the very next day, there she was at Evangeline's door. Looking exactly like Evangeline remembered her the last time she'd seen her - sparkling eyes, warm smile. Warm hugs.
Naturally, she takes the day off of work, to show her mother around Ellipsa and all its wonders. She's chatting her ear off every step of the way.]
-And my job is required to give me sick time off, and vacation days! And I can quit my job at any time if I want to, it's polite to give two weeks' advance notice but they don't kill you for quitting or anything! And - oh, hey! [She spots someone she knows, and waves frantically to get their attention.] Hey! Hi! This is my mom!
[Evangeline's mom clearly resembles her, especially in the eyes and (lack of) height. Her clothes are a bit threadbare, but her smile is warm.] A friend of yours?
[April 27th]
[It had not been her mom.
She had a couple of hours with "Mom" before she started acting strangely. If Evangeline had been smarter, or more careful, she would have been prepared.
If Evangeline had been smarter, she wouldn't have tried to wish for her mom at all. She should know better than to try to use a power she doesn't completely understand for something that hadn't been tested and proven to be safe. She'd gotten comfortable, gotten careless, and paid for it the way that stupid, careless people always do.
She hadn't even been able to fight back, because whatever it was, when it killed her, still looked like her mother. Absolutely pathetic.
The coriander in the Summer Flower Yard blooms delicate white petals, and Evangeline appears, whole and unharmed save for the dull look in her eyes. She sits on the ground, pulls her knees up to her chest, and begins to tremble.
If anyone has been waiting for her to revive, she hasn't noticed them yet.]

[Barghest had, in fact, been waiting for Evangeline. As a Servant she doesn't need to eat or sleep, so she's been watching the yard 24/7. She rushes over to Evangeline, but keeps her distance for now.]
When I felt that you had died, I rushed over as fast as I could.
no subject
[Of course Barghest would be here. Doesn't she rely on her Master for mana? Getting killed like that is irresponsible.]
Were you okay while I was dead? Mana-wise?

It still looked like my mom, and I couldn't bring myself to attack her - it. I don't think I could have watched you hurt her either.
[God, she's an idiot.]

Instead, she ended up making her way to the flower yard, keeping guard until she finally heard Evangeline emerge. That was all she could do.]
Ah- Evangeline...
[Even she wasn't dense enough to ask if she was okay- the answer to that was obvious- instead, she calmly came over and crouched down by her, trying to stop the worry creeping into her expression.
...even though she wasn't Evangeline's Servant, she still felt she owed her an apology. She should have protected her.]

[She shouldn't have gotten herself killed, she made other people worry about her from her own stupidity.]
no subject
May I?
[Best ask before offering her a hug, just in case physical contact wasn't wanted right now.]

I wanted to check and see if you were back yet. I heard... something happened...
[Yeah, no, here she comes to cling too.]
And then you stopped showing up and your flower was here!

Thus, when Evangeline is revived, Julie-Su will be approaching soon. She wants to hug her friend in relief, but she needs a bit of a wake-up call. Thus, her face tear-stained while glaring daggers at her.
She loves you, really, but you scared the hell out of her, so you need hard love.]
Why?
no subject
[Good news! Evangeline is great at being hard on herself! Not so much the love part.]
no subject
[She dropped to her knees covering her face]
You walked out the door and never came back! How could you?! How... how could you...?
[And then she holds herself as she cries.]

Oh, my! I have heard so much about you and yours husband from Evangeline. It's a pleasure to meet you.
[She does a very polite and formal bow. As she tries to straighten up her appearance.]
My name is Fajra Gauthier-Amoureux. Your daughter has been a close companion of mine, and I've really treasured our time together.
no subject
Fajra's been very, very sweet to me, from day one.
no subject
[She gives Evangeline a firm hug.]
I'm sure you both have a lot of catching up to do, but I'd love to hear a little bit about what Evangeline was like when she was younger. If you don't mind sharing a story or two before I go.

Hey! Your mom, you said? Wow, what are the odds of that!
no subject
I wished for her on a Wishing Star! I kind of wasn't expecting it to actually work though... Mom, this is Sonic.
Hello! [Evamom - at least while she's still acting like Evamom - isn't really used to nonhumans as much, but she is very polite, so while her eyes are a little wide-] Are you two friends?
no subject
[He'll have to revisit the Wishing Star thing in a minute, because that sounds nuts.]
Yeah, we're friends. Eva's one of the first friends I made here, in fact!

April 23rd
[That's wonderful! Frieda enthusiastically shakes Evangeline's mother's hand.]
Welcome to Ellipsa! My name is Frieda. I'm glad for you to be here with your daughter!
[She's excited for both of them! Of course, she'd have loved to have her own mother appear after she wished for any of her family members (save for her father since his presence might be upsetting for Historia, who has a much different history with him than Frieda), but apparently, Wishing Stars weren't meant to call people to Ellipsa after all. As such, she assumes that Evangeline's mother arrived the regular way.]
no subject
Frieda! [As soon as her mom lets go of her, Evangeline's giving Frieda a big hug.] Thank you so much, I'd never have thought to try the Wishing Star without you!
no subject
Really, it brought her here? It didn't work for me! I got... ah, let me show you...
[She rummages through her bag and takes out a small doll (it looks pretty much like this, only with purplish, strangely shiny eyes - Frieda can only assume that hers look the same sometimes - and one (1) painted wrinkle running down the side of its nose and mouth on each side).]
I know this is going to sound strange, but it looks like my uncle..!
[She was mystified when she found the doll in the delivered package, but stylised as it is, the little facsimile of her uncle moved her to tears! She misses him in a way that's different from how she misses the rest of her family. She gives Evangeline's mother an apologetic look, feeling like it's somehow a bit of an affront that she arrived in the same way as a mere doll.]
I'm sorry, this world can be a little unpredictable!

April 23rd
It is nice to meet you, ma'am. I am Shadow the Hedgehog. Yes. Your daughter and I are friends. You raised a very kind daughter. You should be proud.
no subject
Please, call me Sara. 'Ma'am' is too formal. But her Father and I are proud of her every single day.
You're both going to embarrass me, you know.
no subject
[He nods to Sara.] Very well, Sara. When did you arrive? And what season are you?
