It has been a slippery slope indeed, but only if they continue viewing it through the same lens as they had back home. Things were different now, right? What if they didn't need to go without it anymore? This life was theirs alone to do with as they pleased, wasn't it?

It's too easy to get caught in the habitual urge to pull away, put some distance between them because that's how things were supposed to be, always professional, though they had skirted that line many times in the past, too. But there's nobody else they need to be accountable to but themselves. And if that's the case, why not live their truth?

And that's why Levi stays exactly where he is, and why he lets himself melt into the other man a little more and close his eyes with a peaceful sigh as he feels Erwin's cheek against his crown. It may not be much, but somehow, he feels better already.

It's why he waits only a little bit, as if he needs to contemplate it further, and then just says, "Sure," because the worst thing that could happen is he gets some extra Erwin contact and that's a complete non-issue at this point. He does have some questions, namely how he expects to achieve it with one arm, but he's willing to trust him, as he always has been and always will be.
