offeredhearts: filling the deepest of needs (a gentle warmth)

The softly mussed hair lends an almost boyish quality to Levi's appearance, especially when he's already freshly clean and wrapped in a robe somewhat too large for him. It'd taken some amount of self control to not pull him close immediately upon reunion, craving that rush of warmth not just from magic, but to quell the inevitable worry that had prickled at the back of his mind the whole time Levi had been out there, fighting. It's not a new sensation; even with his full strength and and full functioning of his limbs, Erwin could never afford to assume that Levi would always come back to him.

It doesn't help that he doesn't fully understand these new threats, the limitations of Levi's body as he currently is. All he can do is have faith in him, because he always has.

Erwin chuckles softly, crossing the room to take that offered space. "You're right of course, on both counts."

He settles himself to Levi's right to put him within better reach. Not for the first or last time, Erwin wishes for both arms again. But it's enough - more than enough, given the circumstance - that he can let his hand slide across Levi's shoulders to pull him close. There's an instant rush of warmth and gentle pleasure blossoming in his chest, relief and magical energy kindling at once. Over these handful of months they've slowly, carefully, explored different kinds of touch they never would have broached before. Erwin still feels his lips tingle every time he remembers pressing them to Levi's cheek to break the spell of the mistletoe.

So hopefully it isn't overly bold of him to lean in and press his face into dark hair, still slightly damp and smelling freshly of soap. He sighs softly, feeling some tension unwind in his back. This...if he'd had this...

...no. That doesn't matter. He has it now. He has Levi now.

"You did well, Levi."
