Really, Levi and Mikasa appear to be similar in more ways than one. The biggest difference is that Levi never even had the chance to hope for a nice home of his own; he'd been tossed into the murky bottom of the gutter from the get go, and even if his mother's love had been a light in his life, it didn't hide the dirty, dangerous world around them.
Now he has that chance -- hell, he has that home -- and he's still trying to get used to it, uncertain if it all isn't just a long dream and he'll wake up drenched in blood and dust, unable to stand on his own two legs.
"...I'm working on it," he says finally. "Everything's new to me and I enjoy most of it. The household machines are amazing. It's nice to keep a cat at home. Hange's helping me grow some herbs to blend a new tea flavor, and Erwin actually has time to read to me. I think knitting is a good skill, perhaps I will try that next."
It's... wild, getting to do all that instead of scraping to survive. Part of him is worried the peace will slow him down, make him complacent, though that's probably not possible at this point, with his danger senses ingrained as deeply as they are.
