And then he huffs and elbows him in the side -- not very hard -- because he knows that, but it sounds different than it looks, so it was still a valid observation!
The frown returns a moment later, this time in concentration, his lips moving soundlessly as he reads the name, apparently prep work to make it easier for himself -- he can read, but it still takes a little more effort than might be expected for someone his age, and he still tends to read things aloud to make sure he got it right when nobody's around to hear.
"Erwin," he then says happily in one go a few seconds later, sounding almost a little proud. "Hey, that's your name." And now he knows how to write it. And their names are right next to each other. That feels... kind of nice, actually. Almost like having friends.
