In many ways, he sees much of his younger self in him, but unburdened by the guilt of foolishly causing his father's death by saying too much to the wrong people. Of course, like his comrades, he's experienced his own share of trauma. But his open, wide-eyed forward gaze is almost like looking in a mirror of what could have been. ]
