Internally, Reiner breathes a sigh of relief. He's tried manipulating the earth in such a way before, opening pits that could be used as traps after the fact. But never has he tried opening one beneath a living target—let alone three!—and never so quickly. Thankfully, it seems his stubborn practice with earth manipulation has paid off.

"Four before I need to reload," he answers. There's a hint of strain in his voice and on his face, a consequence of having used so much magic all at once. However, he furrows his brow and concentrates, moving aside the earth beneath the remaining kelpies' hooves, deepening the hole still more.
