[Damn, Ayato... cooking worse than Hijikata is a dubious badge of honour!! But at least Hijikata is an experienced camper, so before long the tent is standing and the fireplace set up. Since the sun is low on the horizon by now the heat of the day is about to die down, and the fish roasting on sticks smell quite appetising. Besides that, Hijikata brought ready-to-eat rice which he briefly heats in a pan.

As they sit down to eat, of course he drowns his plate in mayonnaise and offers it to Ayato as well (but at least he'll take it in stride if he declines!)]

I brought provisions for three days, but we both have to go back to work, huh? I reckon we can turn in early and leave before dawn if no more lava monsters show up. Or should we camp out another day after all? I find it damn hard to gauge at what intervals they turn up here.
