[ For a quest so deep in the Spring Segment, Reiner expected a lot more peril and a lot less … well, adorable.
Reiner doesn't have a horse of his own. Well, not like the horses back in their world or the one that Jean rides. What he does have is a Winged Creature named Leslie—who happens to look a lot like a draft horse. A big, sweet draft horse with feathered legs and feathered wings, who enjoys running nearly as much as flying. How could Reiner resist bonding with such a creature?
At any rate, Leslie is off hanging out with Abe, and Reiner is hanging out with Jean. He's sitting cross-legged with a bare palm pressed to the earth, using seismic sense at regular intervals to check their surroundings. So far, so good: only the grazing horses' movements register.
… And, of course, the movements of the other panda cub that they're shepherding along. A cub who is currently rolling on its back and trying to (playfully) gnaw on Reiner's forearm.
Ah, to have a sleeping cub like Jean does… ]
Maybe they're restless. [ Spoken as he tries to subdue the cub with belly scratches. (It continues to gnaw.) ] Or maybe they're like toddlers throwing tantrums.
