[This beast truly was difficult for just the two of them to handle, and yet they were in the thick of it now and she couldn't back down now. He'd told her not to prime, and yet to protect him, she wanted to. Before the beast could reach him, a thick wall of ice quickly spread from the ground dividing the beast and Joshua apart. She was overtaxing herself, but she didn't want him to be hurt. Where the beast bled, red icicles sprouted forth along the injuries incurred and clear crystaline ones further more along it's scales.
She kept holding onto the beast, gloved hands curled in an attempt to dig her nails into it to hold it still while the ice continued to spread. It shrieked in pain and fear but she kept holding fast to it while all four limbs were stuck to the ground at last. By the time she lowered the ice wall between it and Joshua, she was breathing hard and her hands were shaking. Her injured arm was screaming at her, the burn leaving a near immobilizing sting along her skin.]
Do it again...
[Hopefully the icy hold she had would help immobilize the beast long enough. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it up.]
