[It would be understandable if Rosen thought that Hijikata did this specifically to fuck with him and get him bent out of shape, but the opposite is true. With both of them settling into their roles and Rosen finally playing it straight Hijikata had just started to relax and actually enjoy the experience without a whole lot of spite and vice mixed in!
