What had started with Mami stress-baking far too much cake and offering to give some away, had lead to a number of other offers to bring food, and soon she had ended up in charge of a substantial potluck mingle. Well, she supposed it would make for a nice welcome party for everyone else who had been dragged into this strange new world with her!

And so, a number of small tables and picnic blankets had been set out with cakes, cookies, hot dogs, burgers and other sweet and savoury treats that her and others had been brought along. Mami had even taken the time to decorate the table with little flowers that she'd gathered as well, just to add to the atmosphere that the cherry blossom trees already provided.

Hopefully it would be a relaxing, pleasant afternoon.

I only have the memories I bought while I was there. I sort of had a cyclical amnesia problem before I got there. My species has a weird life cycle.

I can hardly cook at all, so to me it's basically magic.

Are they particularly delicate...? I'm always gentle but I don't want to hurt anyone by mistake.

It depends on the human. Some of them train to get strong. Some of them are artists or mages or the like, and they're easier to hurt.

It sounds like you're strong, like me, so probably best to assume they're weaker than you until they show you otherwise.

[ That the 'woman' in front of Bridget speaks in a sort of low, electronic voice doesn't really seem to bother or confuse her. People come in all shapes and sizes, after all. ]

[Enjoy it, Thoma. Luckily Hijikata momentarily gets distracted as he sees a couple of seats under the blossoming trees get freed up, however that also makes him waver in his decision to leave the other man to his work.]

Do you want to sit over there? Or do you have to stay here?

[Thoma seems really agreeable; they could talk about the whole situation here on Ellipsa over their meal! But if he's too dedicated to his assigned task Hijikata will understand. It's not like there won't be more opportunities, what with almost everyone living in the same apartment building.]

No matter. I had the option of being more direct earlier, but I'll admit to not having been terribly interested in derailing our food conversation with tedious accounts of exactly which countries my homeland has conquered.

[Minato really didn't know what a carpaccio was, but the ramen miso bolognese sounded amazing. And he would definitely be willing to be a taste tester.]

Were you successful? They sound good.

[He took a bite of the extra cannoli. Minato looked quite content as he chewed. It was really good.]

I won't make you stay, but he can already sense your presence. If he had an issue with you, Korochan would have let you know by now.

[Indeed, the pup obediently stayed under the table.]

I can have him sit behind me and you sit across if that would make you feel better?

[Minato had a mouthful of food when she had approached. He chewed and nodded, he covered his mouth politely and leaned over a little to look at Koromaru. His voice was muffled slightly with food.]

Go shay hi.

[Koromaru was only under there to keep him from potentially getting underfoot since the park was packed a lot more than he expected it to be. Koromaru arf'd! and then trotted out from under the table with a happy look and wagging tail. He approached her and lifted a paw in hello!]

I can take a break. It seems like everyone's settling in to eat and I've finished my plating, so it's about time I enjoyed a little food myself, right?
