WHO: Kaveh, Shigeru, & YOU.
WHAT: Paint & Pour.
WHEN: April 2nd.
WHERE: Spring Segment, Prism Lake
WARNINGS: Drunk Painting.

[ kaveh decided to set up the paint & pour on the shores of prism lake, because a beautiful landscape seemed like something that artists of all skill level could enjoy creating. not to mention, it's also something that probably wouldn't suffer too much if/when guests inevitably started getting tispy. ]

[ there are three canopy tents framing the lake and, unsurprisingly, the first of which has all manner of art supplies: canvases, easels, and paints. the second has an assortment of delicious snacks made by shigeru and the third, final, and likely most anticipated has the wine. there are at least a dozen bottles, each labeled with the segment and shop it came from, because kaveh absolutely went around with the intention of helping them promote their business. ]

( ooc; feel free to assume that your character received an invitation from either kaveh or shigeru. it IS open to the public though, so if your character is strolling by and so much as makes eye contact with either of them, then they'll likely get dragged into the fun. anyway! bring your own top level~! )

[ Saya sees being lonely and being happy for Lumine and Venti as two separate pieces of her. She wants the people she loves to be happy, and she herself won't be here for them very long, unfortunately. ]

There are. We've managed to carve out a nice place for ourselves to call home, and I enjoy meeting new people, so I couldn't ask for much more.

Is that why you're here tonight? Or was it more for the fun of painting?

{ she'd visited him while he was painting, after all, not the other way around. }

I can paint anytime. [ So, the people. ]

I don't often, granted. I spend most of my free time training.

If I may ask, training for what purpose?

{ he dips his brush into the water, finally, after all this time and watches as the water changes colour.

he hasn't said why he's here, but some of that would be for keeping watch on his sister. some is for kaveh, since he asked if he'd come.

a lot of it is learning how to enjoy free time.

so he's latching onto the one thing she says that may be of use to him, since old habits unfortunately die hard. }

I don't have any specific purpose here, other than accomplishing quests I suppose, and exploring the segments. I just always have, and I enjoy it.

[ She nods over at the easel she was using, and her katana which is leaning against it. It looks very large and heavy for her petite frame. ]

{ he's seen sayu wield a claymore. the size of the sword against her petite frame isn't something he'll underestimate. he only glances at the sword for a moment, eyes drifting to her painting as well. }

You seem to be rather talented with painting as well. At least you also decided to paint the lake instead of Alhaitham.

{ it's said with some amusement. }

As for the training, it's best to keep ones skills sharp. I try and train in the mornings myself.

Painting someone without their permission felt intrusive somehow. [ She doesn't judge others for affectionate bullying, it's just not something she enjoys (in that specific form). ]

Do you? What sort of training? [ This clearly has her attention. ]

{ a shame, it's his favourite past time. though it is thankfully a mere comment in this case. a relief that he isn't the only one incredibly thirsty at this gathering. }

Sword training. { he'll turn his eyes away from the water, leaving the wet brush on paper to let it air dry a bit. } I didn't want to presume you'd want a training partner, but if you're interested it does help to spar against unknown opponents occasionally.

[ She prefers different methods of quenching her thirst is all. ]

I'm interested. I can always use more sparring partners. Although I should tell you now that I'm not human. When I fight, it's obvious.

[ She's quite hinged except for the rare occasions when someone messes with her mind, yes. ]

That won't be a problem. { and the fact that he barely blinks is likely a clue he isn't unfamiliar with people who aren't human. granted, he's never tried to fight yae nor would he want to. } Though perhaps I should ask you to go easy on me, if that's the case.

{ she doesn't likely need to, but hopefully the fact he's making a light joke about it will remove any unease about being straightforward about it. }

I make a point never to go easy, it feels patronizing. But I am very careful. No injuries unless someone wants to fight that way. [ Her control is as bonkers as her fighting abilities. ]

I feel like I'm not being clear, though. I'm a... well, I have more in common with the monsters out in the segments than a human. Does the term vampire mean anything to you?

No injuries would be appreciated. I wouldn't care so much, but I wouldn't want my sister to worry. { and ayaka will always come first. }

As for the term, { there's no delicate way to put this } only in the sense of from media. And I am truly hoping you are nothing like the ones I had the discomfort of watching.

[ She delicately scrunches up her nose at the mention of vampire stories ]

Almost nothing in common with the stories, no. I drink blood to survive, but that's about the only thing, and I have many willing donors so I never attack anyone for blood.

My species are called Chiropterans, actually. I use the term vampire as shorthand because it's what most people are familiar with. If someone is going to be frightened I prefer it happen upfront.

It is a relief to hear you don't actually sparkle in the sunlight.

{ but the smile he gives her should hopefully ease her worries. }

But I'm not one to scare so easily, you needn't worry. I happen to already know people can be equally as cruel and horrific as the stories they fear of creatures they don't understand. Youkai, where I'm from, meet the same fear quite often.

-- Sparkle in the sunlight? That's a new one. [ Unsurprisingly she doesn't do vampire media. It's insulting. ]

Humans can be quick to react to what they don't understand, yes. On my home world, they mostly fight each other over small differences like what they look like or where they were born.

[ Probably not the time to get into her own captivity at the hands of humans, but needless to say she has opinions. She likes humans very much individually, but as groups they're not the kindest. ]

I'm grateful for you being so respectful about it. Certainly not everyone is.

It did seem a little strange.

{ honestly if yae miko wasn't the familiar of their god, she may have met the same fate some day. thankfully her position gives her power and respect instead of pure fear.

so, in response to her comment this time he lets out a soft laugh, just a small chuckle.

he's very aware of his insignificance as a human being in a world controlled by gods. other creatures aren't at all as frightening compared to those. }

You've done nothing to earn anything but my respect so far. { a small shrug } Besides, I doubt Lumine would speak so warmly of and live with you otherwise.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what I do, so I'm grateful regardless. Too often I'm seen as a monster or some outlet for their opinions on the media they've seen. [ This is a delicate way of saying "they treat me like their own personal kink". ]

Lumine is the sort of person that's impossible not to treat well. We went through a great deal together, which I'm sure helps. She's seen me at my worst and somehow didn't bat an eye -- a worst born of great stress and manipulation by the powers of that place, granted, but even so. [ Saya could very easily have killed her while her morality was flipped and Lumine was nothing but forgiving. It's better than she deserved. ]

I'm not one so easily swayed by media or rumours, and from first impressions you've given me no reason to feel wary. As much as I may have made comments on it, I'd rather see with my own eyes.

{ and his life is threatened rather often. it's becoming much more easier over time to feel whether someone actually wants him dead or not.

but for a moment he almost regrets bringing up lumine, because he wavers on how to respond to that, just for a moment. }

Lumine has a great talent for seeing the best in people, that is true. { there's a many other things he could say about her, but he'd rather not give too much away about himself. this is the best he can offer to a stranger, even if this stranger is close to her anyway. }

Which speaks well of you, to my mind. If there's one positive about my less than savory experiences with this, it's that I am far less inclined to judge than I once was. I had a bit of a sheltered upbringing. In a sense.

[ Due to this sense of non-judgment, Saya doesn't pay mind to any slight pause or wavering. ]

A quality everyone could learn from, to be sure. I admire her greatly. One of many reasons I wanted to live with her. The fact that she's a brilliant cook helps too, I admit.

{ he doesn't make a mention of his own upbringing. perhaps it had been a little sheltered, if the rude awakening when his parents passed was anything to go by. }

Indeed. And your place is rather lovely. I visited not long after I arrived.

And I do agree, her cooking has been most novel. It's always a pleasure to have.

{ even if thoma's will always be his favourite for Reasons, lumine's has a certain familiarity to it that he enjoys as well. }

We could do worse than living on the edge of the eternal springtime, certainly.

[ Houseguests are common for their place, so she doesn't bat an eye. Between regular guests and the large amount of booty calls it's unusual if they don't have guests. ]

She's offered to help teach me to cook before, poor thing. But I like her too much to let her.

We haven't moved from the apartments yet, though I know Ayaka would like a house with a garden as well. { it doesn't hurt to share that much. } Perhaps we'll consider the same neighbourhood.

I'm sure Lumine would be glad to have her friends so close. And Venti as well, if you know him too.

[ She blushes just a bit, since this is her one point of embarrassment. ]

I'm not bad when I have instructions, but...

I do not. { unlike lumine who had the luxury of travel between continents, he's been chained to inazuma. figuratively, and literally until fairly lately. the country had been closed. }

Ah, but isn't the enjoyment of cooking to trial new things?

Oh. He's a bard from Mondstadt. [ And certainly not Barbatos, not even slightly! ] I'm planning to travel there with him once we're allowed. [ After a brief stopover in Red Son's world to rescue his parents ]

I don't really enjoy cooking, per se. Maybe if I had any idea what I was doing. Mostly I only bother because everyone insists I should learn, despite that it's fairly pointless.
