WHO: Kaveh, Shigeru, & YOU.

[ kaveh decided to set up the paint & pour on the shores of prism lake, because a beautiful landscape seemed like something that artists of all skill level could enjoy creating. not to mention, it's also something that probably wouldn't suffer too much if/when guests inevitably started getting tispy. ]

[ there are three canopy tents framing the lake and, unsurprisingly, the first of which has all manner of art supplies: canvases, easels, and paints. the second has an assortment of delicious snacks made by shigeru and the third, final, and likely most anticipated has the wine. there are at least a dozen bottles, each labeled with the segment and shop it came from, because kaveh absolutely went around with the intention of helping them promote their business. ]

( ooc; feel free to assume that your character received an invitation from either kaveh or shigeru. it IS open to the public though, so if your character is strolling by and so much as makes eye contact with either of them, then they'll likely get dragged into the fun. anyway! bring your own top level~! )

[Yuuto isn't a very creative person, but that's okay! His little sister more than makes up for it. As soon as he caught wind of the event, he'd dragged her along to meet some fellow artists and socialize. Now he's left her to her own devices, though he does keep glancing over at her with a nervous gaze.

He's an awkward wallflower himself... Well, as much as he can get when there are to walls to hide against. Yuuto is too shy to take a canvas and too shy to help himself to snacks. He does wander among the artists though and occasionally pause to compliment their works.]

Amazing... Is that how the world looks through your eyes?

[ Yuuto may be wallflowering, but there is one person here who's into that ~~because flower...wall...flower....get it dsjksd~~ He goes and does his best to hover, and then he gets hovered as Nen sees him, perks up--and heads over straight away.

Are their hands covered in paint from using fingers instead of brushes?

Yes. Absolutely yes. ]

Hello Yuuto!

[Though he usually tries to mask his emotions, Yuuto can't stop himself from smiling when he sees Nen. Especially when he notices that their hands are covered in paint. He chuckles softly while waving.]

Nenonen! I see that you've discovered painting. Are you having fun?

Yes! I am painting with fingers, because I did not realize that was what the brushes were for.

[ But it's clear that Nenonen is very much living their best Paint Life at this moment, and is also as pleased as they ever look to see him. ]

Are you here to paint too Yuuto?

Eheh. Fingers are a good tool to use too. Your art will really have a piece of you now~.

[Yuuto, two seconds from ruining this by wondering if Nen is leaving skin cells in the paint-]

Nn-nn. I’m here to watch Oneechan paint. She loves to make art! Especially dreamy landscapes.

[And Yuuto is afraid of art! It’s an expression of the soul and one’s individuality… Which makes it an easy way to slip up and reveal he’s an imposter ‘Yuuto.’]

[ Nen likes Tau. She has pretty eyes, says interesting things, and is Yuuto's sister. All big checks in Nen's ledger! ]

This is mine. I thought I was painting a rock but it turns out it was alive. He's a person.

[ What Nen means to say is that Alhaitham was sitting so still while reading his book that they thought he was a statue while they were painting this...masterpiece. It's a chaotic mixture of something kind of abstract with colours everywhere, and a vaguely human-shaped blob. ]

[Yuuto, for one, is sincere with his awe when he sees the painting. The colours, the shapes, and the context all add up to what he thinks is a very charming piece of art. He claps his hands together and tears his gaze away from their art.]

Nen, this is amazing! I love it! You've got such an interesting eye for colour.

Oneechan makes art like this too. You two should paint together! [sorry, introvert sister.]

[ This is the most praise Nen's received for something in their life, ever?? They almost don't know what to do with it. Does Yuuto see something in their painting they don't?

Nen looks back at it to be sure, but it doesn't look anything special to them. All the strokes are exactly as Nenonen had placed them.

Yuuto looks happy, though. So Nen unintentionally puffs up a little. ]

Thank you. I had no ideas my eyes were interesting for colour.

[ But they sure as heck will accept the compliment ]

[he can't correct them when they're being so cute. Yuuto just giggles and nods, taking his eyes off of the painting only so that he can focus on Nen. Watching them puff up that way feels nice. He always feels a bit happier when Nen looks happy.]

Mm! Oneechan says that art shows a lot about how people think and feel. You have very beautiful feelings, Nen. [He looks down at their hands again,] Are you going to keep painting with your fingers? I think the result looks really cool, but I can find you a brush if you'd rather?

Oh... I don't know. I like the feeling of moving the paint around with my hands. It is messy, but fun. Do I need to use a brush now?

[ It feels like they would just be getting a clean tool messy (Nen clearly does not know enough about painting yet), and there isn't any point to spreading a contained mess around.

Also: like they said. It's just fun. ]

The world looks a little different through every person's eyes, I think. [ Saya should know, she's had more personalities than most. ]

[ Saya has a plate of yet-to-be-eaten snacks beside her, which she holds up for him. ] Would you like one? I think they're for everyone, and they're delicious.

That's true. It'll be interesting to see everyone's paintings of the same scenery.

[When offered the snacks, Yuuto lifts his hands nervously.] Oh, I couldn't. I didn't bring anything to contribute and I'm not even painting, so...

[He doesn't see himself as deserving.]

Artists certainly have their own perspectives on things. And musicians, actually.

You're not eating your share, you're eating my share. I can't see how anyone would mind that. [ Holding out the plate more insistently ]

Is that not worse..? [Yuuto looks around, like he's expecting the karma police to come for him if he does a Wrong, then reaches out for one of the offered snacks.] Thank you, um...

[And the belt that hangs from his waist begins to sway nervously like a tail,] Are you a painter? You sound like you know a lot...

I can't imagine why it would be worse. You're not stealing from me, I'm offering. But they're tasty, right?

I don't know much really, no. I only paint sometimes, and only for fun.
