Those peaches are really aggressive, from what I hear. I'm not sure where they're usually found, but it's not here. They spray their acidic juice at people.
[Bizarre, but probably good to know! As they continue through the forest, they encounter another campsite that looks to have been abandoned in a panic, with the trees around and some of the camping utensils showing the mantises' characteristic saw- and bite marks, but even though they follow the insects' trail, they eventually lose it when soil turns to rock near a rivulet. Hijikata checks the time.]
We should probably start turning around--
[There's movement on the other side of the little stream, and he quickly takes cover, as the Master Chief surely does too. A headless knight in a black armour appears from in between the trees, carrying his helmet under one arm and leading his skeleton horse by the reins. They stop at the water, and the horse bends down to drink despite not having much of a body. Sure enough, it doesn't look to accomplish much besides dipping its teeth in, but even so, its rider waits until it's done before moving on.]
That was a dullahan. They usually look for a head to put in their helmet, so beware. I wonder why it wasn't all maple-y... maybe it's just passing through.
