The fae go on to explain that the two of them will get paid by the guilds since their own community doesn't use Moon Coins and has already facilitated the currency exchange, then they take the delivered goods, wish them a good day and a safe journey home... and just stand there, evidently waiting for them to leave. Frieda is a bit disappointed - she had questions about the fae enclave and was hoping to get to talk a little more, but granted, they knew these people were leading secluded lives!
Once she and Rinku, still in their animal forms, are out of the faes' earshot, she allows herself a glance back.]
They're still there. I guess they want to make sure we really leave... I wonder why they mistrust us so much? That aside, only letting us enter their territory in animal form wouldn't have protected them if we meant to cause trouble - unless they have spells in place to prevent transformation reversals on their land?
[That would indeed be a smart measure - if they couldn't turn back into humans, their Hammerspace Purses wouldn't manifest, and while they'd still be able to call on their magic, they'd at least lack their weaponry, potions and other equipment.]
