[Katsuki had been sitting in his apartment, playing with his little kitten when the announcement startled him into attention. Something about a Dragon Lord and new powers? Now that sounds interesting as hell, and Katsuki is too curious to ignore it.
He finishes playtime first, though. Before leaving Deku with some treats and fresh food and water. Then he heads off to the beach as instructed.
It's a long explanation, a day, and one fast travel later and Katsuki arrives at the Abandoned Castle. It feels.. familiar, somehow, yet not at all. He hadn't really had the chance to explore any of the segments, but this place still felt like he'd been here before. Weird.
He's gathered with others and told about a ritual, one that uses something called a mindscape and is done in pairs. And he's immediately feeling worried about having to do this with someone he didn't know. For a moment, he feels like backing out... until he's given a slip of paper with a list of new abilities written on. Some of them sound very interesting to him, and so he decides to stay and give it a shot.
But thankfully for him, a new group of people had been brought in at that time. Some who made it just a little late. And within them was a certain white and red haired boy, looking just as curious and perhaps a little lost as he walks in. Katsuki feels a tinge of excitement seeing Shoto, and he waits until the second group is given their own little explanation before approaching him.]
Oi, Todoroki. Do this with me.
[He holds out the paper, showing the other teen even though he surely has his own list.]
I want to learn some of these. And I ain't doing some kind of weird ritual with a stranger.
[Katsuki's aware that they were advised to do it with someone they were unfamiliar with, but even though Shoto was from the same home as him they weren't exactly besties. They were friends, and they trusted each other of course. But there was so much that they just didn't know about each other. He was sure they'd be fine.]
ii. we don't want the truth, we just want control.
[Well, now that Katsuki has done the ritual once with someone he trusts, he feels like he can do a little Hero work by helping others with theirs. Now he's fine with doing a weird ritual with a stranger!
He will hang around the castle for some time after his, and visit it once in a while to see if anyone needs a partner. And when he notices someone on their own, he approaches them with a stern expression on his face.]
Do you need someone to do this shit with? I'll help.
[He's not the nicest person in the world... but he'll try his best to not scare off anyone by getting too angry at the truths being told to him.]
iii. it's a long way from home.
[...Katsuki couldn't resist. Once he started hearing rumors about fan made merchandise of those who have been arriving here, he immediately felt homesick. His home is all about loving Heroes and being fans of them, it's full of merchandise both fan made and official of all kinds of Heroes from home. Katsuki always wished and hoped he would get some cool merchandise made of him, when he was a Pro Hero himself. So this? He just had to see, even though he'd not been here that long himself and was sure there was nothing made of him at all.
Well, colour him surprised when (after looking through many, many booths) he finds something. It's not anything amazing, or particularly cool.... but it's a palm sized keychain, a little plush toy that definitely bares a resemblance to the blonde explosive boy. He'd been doing Quests here and there, but nothing spectacular. Yet he still had some merch...?
Katsuki leaves the booth with ten of them clipped all over his outfit. Proudly wearing himself all over, but probably looking like such an asshole at the same time. And if he notices someone stare, he's on the defense immediately as he's painfully aware of how cringe he was right now.]
