[ It may have been a good deal more overpacking than was necessary for this trip, but Thoma has long lived with an 'over prepared over under prepared' mind set, especially since one of the people he serves doesn't tend to mind trivial details. His own familiarity with animals adds to the level of preparation he took... which overall results in Thoma carrying way more than he probably needed, but at least he's prepared! ]
