[ Nen doesn't need to be told to fall in line twice. Knives slices the scorpions apart like they're made of butter, faster than Nen can react--obviously, they're going to do what he says. He is so much more equipped to handle this situation.
Running in the sand, however, is not one of Nen's fortes. Running in general is not a strength for Nen--but when Knives gives them the instruction, heck if they're not going to try and follow it as they hurry after him, but it's...not great. The sand bogs Nen down and they lack the strength in their legs to push through what the sand saps from them in a run. Nen stumbles and nearly trips over themself more than once--so Knives might want to grab them, especially when all that extra movement seems to provoke another bout of scorpions.
They burst out of the sand much like the first--but now there are other, secondary and further away outpourings of them, in all directions. One even rises right out of the sand next to Knives's foot, stinger shooting out of the sand toward him. ]
