Mandarin I'm pretty good with, it's close enough to Japanese which I'm fluent in. Cantonese... [ She lifts a hand and makes a so-so gesture. ] I'm not sure I could read much of it, it depends how common the words are. Other Chinese dialects, it depends on geography. The closer to Russia or Korea the more likely I am to be able to handle it. And I know a great deal of Southeast Asian languages if that matters, Thai, Tagalog, a smattering of other regional dialects, and Vietnamese -- though I get weird about that one. Not a fond memory.

Sanskrit I'd need a lot more help with. I don't have any familiarity when I think of it. It's possible seeing it in writing I'd know more of it than I think, that sometimes happens. [ Without all her memories, who can say? ]
