Katsuki sits in the waiting room for hours. There's a television playing, but his thoughts drown out the sound of the people talking on it. Izuku has definitely seen a lot of hurt in his time training to be a Hero, and as had Katsuki. But what was so scary about this time was how pale Izuku's face had looked. How weak he'd been from just a minute of blood sucking. It was a terrifying sight, but Katsuki was thankful he had been there to save Izuku. If he hadn't... Izuku may not have come home that night.
The boys had left early in the morning to get a headstart on their quest, and now the sun was beginning to set by the time Katsuki is called to the front desk. They explain to him that Izuku had survived, and was now in his own room and able to see visitors. He thanks them, and quickly makes his way to the assigned room.
When he knocks, and opens the door, he.. looks like a mess. Shirtless with Izuku's blood still staining his face and his hands. He'd been offered to clean up multiple times by doctors but each time he ignored them, too focused on his friend and how he was doing to care about himself.]
Oh, you're already awake.
[Katsuki is a little surprised, when he sees Izuku's hand raised to touch his bandages. He thought he'd be out for the rest of the night, but seeing him already awake feels.. so relieving.]
