WHAT: Housewarming mingle!

WHERE: Fine Arts House (Solarpeak)

All those months of work are paying off, and Rinku and Mary have moved to Solarpeak! Their new house, a beach-stilt-style house in walking distance from the Summer Guild building, is bright inside and out, and today there are balloons and games set up underneath the house and a wide-open door up the stairs leading into it.

Anyone who knows Rinku and/or Mary will have been invited to party; housewarming gifts are accepted but not required, and food is provided, ordered in from nearby restaurants. The bedrooms are closed but everywhere else is open, and if you need to get away from the party, you can go sit outside... or if Mecchan isn't scared of you, he might let you chill in his room for a while. Otherwise, have fun with the games, the art room, the music room, the food, and anything else!

"Well I'll have to remember that when we go back to our world." Eliza admitted. "It's just... you scared me, with how strong you are and how intrested in Esme you were seemingly out of no where."

Davis, Max was being so honist and sharing more than he needed too, it seemed only fair to share back.

"So I'll... I'll take Dare this time, don't make me regret it."

"That's fair enough. I know I can be scary," At least Max wasn't going to hold that against Eliza.

"Okay. Let's see. I gotta make this a good one. I dare you to...do a handstand."

"And you're okay with me being scared of you?" Eliza had thought Max would start saying why she shouldn't be instead of saying it's okay.

"A handstand?" Eliza asked surprised at the dare, it was a good one but... "Geez I don't think I've done a handstand since I was eight."

She got to her feet and glanced around for a good spot where she wasn't at risk of kicking Max or anyone else.

"Okay... hup!" Eliza put her hands on the ground and tried to follow through but only got her feet a few inches off the ground. "No wait."

She took a few more steps back.

"Okay this time!"

After the first false start Eliza was a little worried but she didn't hesitate this time and while it wasn't graceful she was standing on her hands.

"UH oh... uh oh!"

And then she started to tip over.

"Me understanding of you being scared isn't the same as me being okay with it," Max said simply. He nodded at the question. He sat back to watch. He tilted his head and up she went. He motioned with his finger to keep her upright for a moment long. Then used his magic to help her touch her feet to the floor safely.

"Bravo. You did it. That wasn't so bad, right?"

"You're right, it wasn't to bad actually." Eliza admitted. "I thought for sure I was going to fall flat on my face."

Elzia straightens her glasses grinning, this was actually growing to be more fun than she thought it was going to be.

Still there was what Max said eariler. "And I promise... I'm going to try and stop being scared of you. Okay? I mean learning what I have is already helping so... yeah."

Max chuckled and nodded.

"Fair enough. Remember, be careful about promises to me and people like me. I'm not holding you to it, but the Wyrd might. That's what it does. Still, I really appreciate it. Thank you."

"That's why I said I promised to try. See, I'm learning." Eliza smirked leaning back on one arm where they said.

"So.... truth or dare?"

"Very true. You are learning," Max said with a chuckle.

"Truth this time."

"Okay..." Give her a moment as she thinks, a long moment."Would you... be mad if I asked you a serious question during this game?"

Given that she had already asked about Esme the implcation might be it's an unpleasant question too.

"Well ain't that a clever question?" Max asked in return though his smile stays on.

"I won't be mad if you asked me a serious question, no. Ask away. Other people have in earlier games and I didn't get mad at them. You're good."

"Heh.... I'm surprised you didn't take that as your question and make me wait until the next turn." She pointed out recognising that Max was technically giving her a freebie here.

"Okay so... why did you give your father such a brutal deal to save your sister? I thought maybe you hated him, but now I'm not so sure."

"Honestly I was going to do that but since you already asked your next question and it's a serious one we'll put the game on hold for it," Max said. His smile faded and he set his drink down.

"I gave him such a brutal deal because he has to come to terms with his destiny. He can't avoid it. No one can stop it. Every path of every timeline, no matter the actions of others, all moves to a single point in time, every time. My dad opens Pandora's Box. Each and every time. The circumstances change, the reasons change, but he does it. Giving him a good outcome out of it, something positive for a person he loves, I hoped would soften the inevitable. My dad cannot exist past the point where the box opens. It's his destiny to erase himself. Nothing and no one can change that."

"Nothing?" Eliza echoed feeling her stomach drop. Poor Mike, he did not deserve that. "Are you sure...wait that's a stupid question you've seen it. Fuck. And here I thought you hated him."

"I'm sorry."

"I can see why you thought that," Max said softly. "I don't hate my dad. I love him. I wish something could be done. Which is why I am glad he is here. Destiny can't reach him here so he can enjoy himself. Maybe fall in love. Have a family. A real one. As long as my bitch of a Grandmother never shows up."

Max sips his drink.

"Thank you. I forgive you."

Eliza offers Max a smile, it's not the happiest but it's a genuine one. She thinks hard about what to say now, after that little bombshell, but she doesn't know. Maybe it's for the best if she just lets the wound she poked settle again. So she changes the subject.

"I think we both might have had enough of this game for now, but I still owe you a double turn... to make up for killing the mood I'll let you chose, two truths, two dares or one of each?"

Max finishes his drink and sets the glass down. He turns it a few times, considering the idea. Two truths, two dares, or one of each. To wrap up this game that has, indeed, lost it's fun edge.

"Hmmm. The game doesn't feel fun anymore, no offense. Not really your fault. Truths are painful. We can save it for another time. Want to go on a walk outside? The beach is nice and I think we could both use some air. If you're stuck on it, I dare you to take a walk with me and I dare you to breath some fresh air," Max said and stood up, heading for the door.

"Nah, I won't let you waste your truth or dares on that, you can cash them in later. But I will go on that walk with you."

Eliza stood up herself and followed him out.
