Out of seemingly nowhere, shadows engulf MK like billowing smoke, and then he's gone... seemingly. In fact, Macaque just moved him far enough away to be out of the immediate line of fire, and Macaque puts himself between MK and Cole as he tries to help MK down to the floor before he falls.

He looks at Cole with fear badly covering his hurt betrayal. He knows this isn't Cole, it's something else. This place, probably, coated with magic and secrets.
